Spring In My Soul
Helen Dowd

I thank You, God, for sunlight,
For the sky that's azure blue.
I thank You for the birds that sing.
Their song is ever new.

I thank You for the flowers,
For daffodils so bright.
Their golden heads are held so high—
A most delightful sight.

The pansies, tulips, hyacinth,
The varied flowering bush.
They all burst for the in proud awry,
As if they're in a rush.

It makes my heart feel happy
To see the leaves all sprout.
Each spring I have this feeling:
I want to sing and shout.
